Baptism Day

We had Nina's baptism here at the house on April 6th. It was a very special day. April 6th is also Great Grandpa Benzel's birthday. We were so thrilled that so many people were able to come and celebrate with us, especially her Godparents Aunt Pat and Uncle Tom and Aunt Betsy. The above photo shows Aunt Betsy holding Nina during the actual baptism. Betsy and Brian's mom came all the way from Iowa. Aunt Pat and Uncle Tom bought Nina's baptismal outfit for her, and she also wore her special keepsake bracelet from Janel and Khileen. She looked like a little angel, and she was so peaceful during the whole ceremony. We had a nice brunch beforehand, then the baptism, then some cake.

Here is a photo of Nina with her parents, her Godparents and Pastor Craig. Aunt Pat and Uncle Tom suggested Pastor Craig to us (he's their pastor) and he did an amazing job. He made the baptism so meaningful and personal, and we are so grateful to him for helping make Nina's day so special.

My mom has been here since right before the baptism. We LOVE when Grandma Benzel comes to visit! She cooks, she cleans, she takes care of Nina and Simon, she does everything! We are so grateful to her for all of her help. She has come several times throughout the pregnancy and was so much help. We can't wait for her next visit!

Grandpa was able to come for a few days right before the baptism. He had to get back to work so he had to leave early. We missed him at the baptism but we were glad to be able to see him for a little bit and Nina loved cuddling with her grandpa. Nina's shirt is so cute. It's from my friend Kerri and it says "best little sister" in sequins. So cute. And check out the socks. They look like Mary Janes. One of my scrapbooking clients sent those, and they have been a big hit. So darn cute!

We were so glad that Brian's mom was able to come with Betsy. With her busy schedule at the golf course it's hard for her to get away sometimes so it was extra special to have her visit. Simon and Nina loved being spoiled and doted on by Grandma Bernhard.

My goodness...those are the sweetest photos ever! What a wonderful family, and Nina is a blessing from above as your family circle enlarges. May her life, and your family, be surrounded by goodness and love.
Thinking of you!
